Crafty 3v3 Basketball

Natick Travel Basketball has partnered with Crafty Basketball to expand on a successful pilot program that was run this past summer. Crafty Basketball is a 3-on-3 league with a unique scoring system designed to increase offensive court awareness and basketball IQ. It is a novel approach that teaches players how to read defenses and move without the ball.

NTB is excited to offer this differentiated 3-on-3 approach because it provides more opportunities for players to handle the ball, pass, cut and defend than traditional 5-on-5 basketball. This fall’s program is open to any 5-8 grade girl or boy who participated in this year’s tryouts.

No out of town travel is involved and all players are from Natick. The fall session will run on 5 Sundays from Oct. 22 through Nov. 19. Price is $95 per player. $80 if you have a shirt from this past summer.

There are only 36 spots available per age group/gender, so please register ASAP as spots will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Once registered, you will be contacted via email regarding next steps. If you have any questions about this exciting new program, please contact NTB board member Brian Carroll at 86celts@gmail.com

The Natick 8th Grade Boys A team captured the Metrowest Basketball Division 1 Championship on Sunday afternoon at Mass Premier Courts in Foxboro, defeating North Quincy 65-62.

In a game in which they trailed most of the way, Natick was resilient and with some stout defense, clutch 3 point shooting and some huge free throws in the final minute, they took the lead late and held on for the victory.

Natick finished the regular season 4-8 in Division 1 and was the #13 seed going into the 16 team tournament. They then went on a 4 game run which included a 1 point win over #4 seed Mansfield, a 20 point win over #12 seed Northboro and then a 5 point win over a heavily favored and #1 seeded North Attleboro team to make it to the championship game on Sunday.

Splitting the regular season series with North Quincy at a game a piece, this was the rubber match and figured to be a closely contested game, which it was throughout. A huge congratulations to this championship team from the entire Natick Travel Basketball family.

The members of this 8th grade team are Anton Ciccarelli, Joe Connolly, Carter Doran, Jake Dunlap, Jon Klein, Christian Lederman, William Lederman, Nick Ofodile, Thomas O
